Every one of us has something we can do to help fight human trafficking. You can make a difference! How can you use your gifts, skills, and abilities to bring an end to this horrible crime? Below are a few of our greatest needs for volunteers. However, if you don’t see something that interests you, please fill out our application and we will find a way for you to get involved.
Community Outreach Team -Are you passionate and want to get out in the community to help end human trafficking? This is an opportunity on an occasional basis to help spread the word about human trafficking. You will serve by participating in various types of outreaches in the community. We usually hold an outreach once a month for a couple hours. You will report to the Community Outreach Coordinator.
Events Team – Do you enjoy talking to people about human trafficking? We are looking for a group of people who can be trained to represent Florida Abolitionist at various venues in the community where we are asked to attend and have a booth. This is an occasional opportunity whenever a team is needed. You will report to the Events Coordinator.
Multicultural Relations Team – The Hispanic Department works to bring prevention and awareness of Human Trafficking to the Hispanic/Latino communities in Central Florida. For more information click here.
Web Developer – Would you like to use your web design skills to end slavery? Are you experienced developing Word Press websites? Then you can make a difference. Our website is our opportunity to educate and engage the public to help end slavery. You can help us!
Social Media Coordinator – Is Social Media a regular part of your life? We are looking for a passionate individual to oversee some of our Social Media platforms. By doing so, you will help end modern-day slavery by educating the community about this horrible crime. This is an ongoing opportunity that would require approximately 3 hours per week. You will report to the Mobilization Director.
Volunteer Coordinator – Are you organized? Do you enjoy helping others find rewarding opportunities to serve? Then you could help more people get involved with us by serving as our volunteer coordinator. This is an ongoing opportunity that would require approximately 1 hour per week. You will report to our Mobilization Director.
First Impressions Team – Do you enjoy working behind the scenes and serving? Our First Impressions team’s job is to make a good first impression with those who come to our Abolitionist Operations and Training Center. You will greet people in person and over the phone as well as enter data, handle mailings, and anything else needed in the office. We are looking for multiple people to volunteer their time Monday through Wednesday from 10am-5pm. Partial and full day shifts are available. You will report to our Administrator.
Justice Prayer Leaders – Do you enjoy seeking God’s face to end slavery? You can start a prayer group at your church or with a group of friends to pray weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly for an end to this horrible crime. You will report to the Prayer Coordinator.
Communications Team – Are you gifted in communications or marketing? Use those skills to help people learn about human trafficking and join our efforts to fight it! This team will produce written communications as well as use social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) to help raise a strong group of abolitionists committed to ending modern-day slavery. You will report to the Mobilization Director.
Training Team – Are you a gifted teacher or verbal communicator? You can use your skills to prevent and fight human trafficking. Florida Abolitionist receives requests on a regular basis for qualified speakers to teach civic groups, businesses, churches, etc. about the realities of modern-day slavery. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to prevent human trafficking and help raise up an army of abolitionists equipped to join the fight. You will report to our Director of Training.
Fund Development Team – Would you like to help bring in the resources necessary to end slavery in our community? We are looking for passionate team members who can cast vision to prospective donors and invite them to partner with us financially to fight human trafficking. Without adequate funding, our mission will not move forward. Join us by helping provide the resources to make the abolition of slavery a reality! You will report to our Fund Development Coordinator.
Photographer – Are you a gifted photographer? You can use those skills to help end slavery! Use the power of images to help tell the story of modern-day slavery and what Florida Abolitionist is doing to help bring it to an end in Central Florida. You will be a part of the Communications team and report to the Mobilization Director.
Videographer – Are you a storyteller? Your video skills can make a huge difference in the movement to end slavery! Creating video pieces to communicate the reality of trafficking and how to identify it can have a huge impact. There are numerous ways video can be leveraged for the cause. You will be a part of the Communications team and report to the Mobilization Director.
Abolition Wares Coordinator – Are you organized? Do you enjoy promoting products that make a difference? We are looking for a motivated individual to lead Abolition Wares, our merchandise department. You will help identify designs for t-shirts, buttons, bags, and other merchandise. Once selected, you will help keep track of orders and inventory. Selling these items will allow many people to share about human trafficking without opening their mouths! Spreading the word is incredibly important. Not only that, but all sales will help fund the work of abolishing slavery!
