United Abolitionist exists to stop all forms of human trafficking in the United States. Many organizations tirelessly fight human trafficking on an international scale but there is so much work to be done right here in the U.S. Despite the increased media attention and legislative efforts, human trafficking remains pervasive in our country. We are dedicated to addressing the crime in “our own backyard” of Orlando and the surrounding region.
United Abolitionists, formerly Florida Abolitionist (FA), is a non-governmental 501(c)3 organization established to stop human trafficking.
We are first responders to the national human trafficking crisis.
We are the leading agency in the U.S. connecting all organizations and resources necessary to educate, prevent, rescue and rehabilitate in the fight against modern-day slavery and exploitation.
Tomas J. Lares, the Founder, and CEO began his journey in 2004 when he learned about human trafficking. He quickly began educating others about the crime and assisting victims in Central Florida. He formed Florida Abolitionist in 2009 to expand his efforts of assisting victims and educating the community. He expanded Florida Abolitionist to United Abolitionists in 2019.
