Florida Abolitionist has developed a middle, high school, and college program designed specifically for students that raises awareness about the realities of human trafficking in their world and how they can prevent it from occurring.
Through the arts and speaking, we share with students what human trafficking is, the realities of this terrible crime, and how it is a near and ever present danger for students and youth.
Prevention is a key part of Set Free where we give students real and tangible ways to avoid falling prey to traffickers and those that mean to do them harm. We teach on what can be done to protect their friends as well as keeping the theme of “looking out for one another” central to the program.
“The Florida Abolitionist and Set Free presentation is one I recommend for every Florida high school. It beautifully combines music, dance, video, spoken word and dialogue to teach the very important issue of human trafficking. The dynamic presentation also emphasizes the importance of self-worth and self-esteem. It was one of the best student presentations that I have seen in over 28 years of teaching.” – Wendy Doromal, Timber Creek HS
